    "Message from the Organisers"

In recent years we see many things happening in our country that are pretty distressing to any right-minded person. And it’s not just limited to the very top, but cuts across every facet of our beloved Malaysia. Stand-up comedians are having a field day, making fun of 1MDB and the Billion Dollar Whale, joking about FLOM and strange actions of the MACC investigating a Court of Appeal judge over an article by a deserting (traitorous?) blogger who is apparently living in London. Then you have the expose’s every year from the Auditor General about “leakages” and inappropriate spending…

One can argue that one reason or cause of the rampant moral trespasses and open corruption is the absence of strong character and the strong need to infuse this in our children. Not only among the country’s top leaders but across every segment of our society. It has, for example become common practice in coffee shop talk to brag about how one got away from a traffic offence with “just RM50”, etc!

This Conference is organised with the aim of not only bringing such thorny issues to the fore, but discussing solutions openly and the next steps that we, especially the business community, can take to foster what is necessary but perhaps missing in the Next generation of Malaysians. We all have a role to play to “stop the rot” and prepare the coming generation to take us to where we should rightfully be.

Allow me to thank all the panelists and moderators who have willingly volunteered their time to be with us and share their thoughts as leaders in their respective fields. Thanks also for the Sponsors without whom we would not have been able to do this, at no charge to the attendees.

A big thank you to everyone on the organizing committee who have toiled selflessly and relentlessly since June to make this happen today.

Most of all, Thank you for your presence and participation in this forum. Majulah Malaysia!
